Meet Dr. Dotson
Dr. Ronnie Dotson, a lifelong educator, served as Superintendent of Schools in Carter County, Kentucky from 2011 to 2022. During his tenure, Carter County improved from being one of the lowest achieving districts in the state to consistently ranking among the highest performing.
In facilitating one of the most successful turnarounds in the history of Kentucky, Dotson credited a dedicated school board, a talented team of professionals, and a community passionate about its children.
Dr. Dotson left Carter County in 2022 for Hilton Head Island, SC where he continues to be an advocate for advancing education.
